Flamin’ Hot News: CahabaQue BBQ Cook-Off Raises Over $31,000 for Local Breast Cancer Research

Cahaba Brewing Company and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) have announced the winners of the Fall CahabaQue BBQ Cook-Off, which was held on Saturday, April 13th. The event was a huge success, attracting over 1,500 guests and 18 cook teams, and raising $31,337 for breast cancer research in Alabama. Judges had the challenging task of selecting the winners for Best CahaBUTT and Best Sauce, making it a fun and flavorful competition.

“We are ecstatic to have raised $31,337,” said Eric Meyer, COO and co-owner of Cahaba Brewing Co. “We hold this event near and dear to our hearts because we know just how important it is to support those affected by breast cancer. Every dollar raised will go towards supporting projects that make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. We are proud to be part of a community that comes together to support such a crucial cause.”

With the help of our sponsors, guests, cook teams, and volunteers, we are taking meaningful steps towards improving breast cancer diagnostics, treatments, and prevention methods, and ultimately eradicating this disease.”

Since 2013, CahabaQue has raised over $288,000 for the BCRFA. Breast cancer affects an estimated 1 in 8 women and 1 in 833 men at some point in their lifetime. 4,500 Alabama women will be diagnosed this year alone.
