31st Annual Drive-Out Breast Cancer Golf Tournament Raises $115K for Local Breast Cancer Research
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) hosted its annual Drive-Out Breast Cancer golf tournament on May 18 at Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills, bringing together over 90 golfers and supporters for a day dedicated to advancing breast cancer research in Alabama. The event raised over $115,000 to fund innovative research projects across the state.
Now in its 31st year, the Drive-Out Breast Cancer tournament continues to serve as the BCRFA’s longest standing fundraising events, uniting community partners, sponsors, and advocates in support of life-saving research. Since its inception in 1996, the tournament has raised almost $3.5 million to help fund groundbreaking breast cancer research initiatives throughout Alabama.
This year’s event was made possible through the generous support of the O’Neal Cancer Center at UAB, Renasant Bank, Tameron Automotive, and the many sponsors, volunteers, and participants who contributed to its success.
“Events like the Drive-Out Breast Cancer tournament are an important part of the BCRFA’s legacy,” said Beth Davis, President & CEO of the BCRFA. “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community and everyone who helps make this event possible each year.”
Proceeds from the tournament directly support the BCRFA’s mission to fund innovative, local breast cancer research that improves outcomes and transforms lives for those impacted by the disease.
