Revvin’ 4 Research Celebrates 18 Years of Fueling Local Breast Cancer Research

Engines roared and motorcycles rolled through Shelby County in a sea of pink on Sunday, September 13 in Pelham, AL. Almost 150 motorcyclists joined the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) at the 18th annual Revvin’ 4 Research charity ride. The event raised $15,000 for Alabama breast cancer research, thanks to the events presenting sponsors –  Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, Lil Bits Tavern, and Alabama Blazin’ Entertainment – and riders from across the region .

A New Turn in 2026

Following a poker-run format, the ride featured multiple stops throughout Shelby County before riders returned to Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson. Riders proudly decorated their motorcycles and themselves in pink to honor breast cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and support ongoing research efforts. 100 motorcycles participated in this year’s event.

After completing their poker run, participants gathered at Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson for best and worst poker hand prizes, food, fellowship, and to celebrate the day’s impact.

Riding for a Reason

For nearly two decades, Revvin’ 4 Research has united Alabama’s motorcycle community around a shared mission: accelerating progress against breast cancer through local research funding. Since its inception in 2009, the event has raised more than $280,000 for breast cancer research across the state.

“The entire Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson team is honored to continue our partnership with BCRFA and help bring our community together for such an important cause,” said Mike DeSantis, General Manager of Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson. “Every year, we’re inspired by the generosity and enthusiasm of our riders, sponsors, and volunteers who make this event possible. Their support is helping advance research that can change lives.”

Beth Davis, President and CEO of BCRFA, expressed gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers, and riders who helped make the event a success.

“The funds raised through Revvin’ 4 Research directly support innovative breast cancer research taking place in Alabama,” said Davis. “Every mile ridden and every dollar donated brings us closer to better treatments, improved outcomes, and ultimately a future without breast cancer. We are deeply grateful to everyone here for standing with us in this mission.”

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers, impacting one in eight women and one in 726 men during their lifetime. Through events like Revvin’ 4 Research, BCRFA continues to invest in research that improves prevention, detection, treatment, and survivorship while keeping every dollar raised working in Alabama.
