Birmingham BBQ Legends Rodney Scott and Nick Pihakis to Judge CahabaQue BBQ Cook-Off on April 15

The BCRFA is excited to welcome Rodney Scott and Nick Pihakis, Birmingham BBQ legends and talent behind Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ, as special guest judges at the spring CahabaQue BBQ Cook-Off on Saturday, April 15 at Cahaba Brewing Company!

As judges, Rodney and Nick will sample BBQ from nearly 20 cook teams and help select the winner of Best CahaBUTT.

Benefitting the BCRFA, CahabaQue is a fun-filled afternoon with live music, craft beer, and all the BBQ tastings you can eat! Teams will compete for Best CahaBUTT, People’s Choice, and more.

Rodney Scott is Pitmaster and co-founder of Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ

Rodney Scott is Pitmaster and co-founder of Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ. Winner of the 2018 James Beard Award for Best Chef, Southeast, Rodney has been cooking whole-hog barbecue, over wood coals burned down from hardwood, since he was in middle school. In 2017, Rodney partnered with the Pihakis Restaurant Group to open Rodney Scott’s BBQ.

Nick Pihakis is the Founder and CEO of the Pihakis Restaurant Group. Working in restaurants since he was 19 years old, Nick started the Birmingham-based barbecue business, Jim N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, with his father Jim, 30 years ago, and along with his Pihakis Restaurant Group partners has opened multiple brands in Atlanta, Birmingham, Charleston, and Nashville including Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ, Little Donkey, Hero, and Tasty Town Greek Restaurant and Lounge.
