Revvin’ 4 Research marks 17th anniversary, raising over $16K

Over 300 motorcyclists joined the charity ride to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama

On Sunday, September 28, the 17th annual Revvin’ 4 Research occurred in Pelham, AL, complete with the sound of engines and the sight of pinked-out motorcycles and riders. Presented by Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson and Lil Bits Tavern/Alabama Blazin Bingo, the yearly ride benefited the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) and raised over $16K to support local breast cancer research. Over 300 motorcyclists riding almost 250 motorcycles cruised through the Shelby County roads.

The entire Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson staff feels excited to continue their partnership with the BCRFA while bringing the motorcycle community together for a worthy cause. General Manager Mike DeSantis shared, “Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson is proud to support the BCRFA and its mission to advance breast cancer research. It’s always inspiring to see our community show up with such strong support for this important mission.”

The one-hour ride through the roads of scenic Shelby County was accompanied by law enforcement from multiple jurisdictions. Many of the participants came with their bikes “pinked-out” to show their support during the ride. After the ride concluded, attendees gathered for a cookout courtesy of Chef Jason Dodd of Breaking Bread Catering.

BCRFA’s President & CEO Beth Davis expressed her sincere appreciation for the sponsors and riders who made this year’s event a success. “The funds raised at this year’s Revvin’ 4 Research will directly support the most innovative breast cancer research right here in Alabama,” Davis said. “Our mission is driven by the commitment of our sponsors and every rider who took part. Thank you for helping us move closer to a future without breast cancer.”

Since the event began in 2009, Revvin’ 4 Research has raised over $265,000 to support local, lifesaving breast cancer research in Alabama. One in eight women and one in 726 men will battle this disease.

2025 event sponsors and supporters included: Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, Lil Bits Tavern/Alabama Blazin Bingo, U.S. Tsubaki Industrial, Chef Jason Dodd – Breaking Bread Catering, Randy Hammond, Vulcan Imaging Associates Women’s, Birmingham Squadron, Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Dentons Sirote, iHeartMedia, and WBRC 6 News.

Revvin’ 4 Research is held yearly in September. Details about the 2026 event and other BCRFA events can be found at bcrfa.org/events.
