The Bolt for Breast Cancer 5K and Fun Run returned to Mountain Brook with a display of pink and community support. The annual event has the same goal every year – to fund breast cancer research and save lives. The Bolt for Breast Cancer, organized by the Junior Board of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) and presented by ABC 33/40 and Thrivent, took place at Crestline Field on Sunday, October 5, and raised an impressive $51,689 with 509 participants of the 5K and 1-mile Dolly Dash.

Annual casino night raises over $112,000 for breast cancer research in Alabama
Nearly 300 guests joined together to fuel Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama’s mission
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) is excited to announce that our 13th annual Pink Palace Casino Night raised $112,790 to fund local, lifesaving research across the state.
Nearly 300 guests joined us for an elegant evening of food, music, and Vegas-style fun on Saturday, April 23, at Soiree Event Galley in Hoover. Presented by the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB, Renasant Bank, and Tameron Honda and Hyundai, the event is one of our largest fundraisers with all proceeds invested in innovative breast cancer research at Alabama institutes, including Birmingham’s O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, CerFlux, and Southern Research.
“The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama is funding innovation in breast cancer research from Huntsville to Mobile,” said Beth Bradner Davis, Executive Director. “With more than 4,200 Alabama women receiving a breast cancer diagnosis this year alone, the BCRFA is meeting a critical need by accelerating science towards a cure.”
Thanks to the efforts of the event committee, board of directors, generous sponsors, and dedicated community members, this year the event raised the highest amount ever!
Thank you to our presenting sponsors!
