14th Annual Revvin’ 4 Research motorcycle ride raises over $14K for local breast cancer research

Over 150 motorcyclists ride at event benefitting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama

On Sunday, September 25, 126 motorcycles and 160 riders participated in the 14^th annual Revvin’ 4 Research charity motorcycle ride raising money for lifesaving breast cancer research in Alabama. Presented by Lhoist and hosted by Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, the event raised $14,134 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA).

Members of several police jurisdictions along the 65-mile route escorted the procession of “pinked-out” riders and motorcycles of all shapes and sizes after they passed under a giant American flag flown by the Pelham Fire Department.

 “All the money raised today stays right here in Alabama. That’s so important to us and many of you here today,” said Mike DeSantis, General Manager of Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, in his event remarks. “We know research is what’s going to beat this thing and Heart of Dixie is honored to host an event that brings people together to join the fight.”

Since its inception in 2009, Revvin’ for Research has raised $215,000 to support local, lifesaving breast cancer research in Alabama. One in eight women and one in 1,000 men will battle this disease.
