Members of several police jurisdictions along the 65-mile route escorted the procession of “pinked-out” riders and motorcycles of all shapes and sizes after they passed under a giant American flag flown by the Pelham Fire Department.

“All the money raised today stays right here in Alabama. That’s so important to us and many of you here today,” said Mike DeSantis, General Manager of Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, in his event remarks. “We know research is what’s going to beat this thing and Heart of Dixie is honored to host an event that brings people together to join the fight.”

Since its inception in 2009, Revvin’ for Research has raised $215,000 to support local, lifesaving breast cancer research in Alabama. One in eight women and one in 1,000 men will battle this disease.

2022 event sponsors and supporters included: Lhoist, Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, ERA King Real Estate, Lil Bits Tavern, Meredith Carpenter Law, Porter’s Termonox, Process Barron, Step One Automotive Group, Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Dentons Sirote, iHeartMedia, Law Tigers Motorcycle Lawyers, WBRC Fox 6, Golden Rule BBQ, Law Offices of J. Thomas Crawford, Reli Title, and Roddy O. Sample and Associates.

The event is held each year on the last Sunday in September. Details about next year’s event on Sunday, September 24, 2023 will be available at
