Bridgeworth Invests in Breast Cancer Research at Pink Palace Casino Night

On April 14, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) held its 10th Annual Pink Palace Casino at Haven.  More than 250 supporters of the BCRFA attended this night of Vegas-style casion gaming while raising money for breast cancer research.

The BCRFA takes a comprehensive approach to battling breast cancer through support of collaborative and innovative research to help diagnose, treat, prevent and eradicate the disease. All of the funds raised by the organization remain in Alabama, supporting local research, which in turn makes a national impact.

Since its inception in 1996, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama has raised over $7.7 million to fund research, cutting edge equipment and experimental therapies at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center and its collaborative partners.

Bridgeworth served as a sponsor of this year’s Pink Palace Casino Night, which netted over $75,000 for research. Laura Hinton, a Bridgeworth Advisor, serves on the executive committee of the BCRFA Board of Directors. Laura was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. As a survivor, Laura is passionate about supporting research and the BCRFA.

One out of eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Research is the key to finding new treatments and ultimately a cure for this disease. Thirty years ago, four out of five women diagnosed with breast cancer lost their lives. Today, thanks to research, four out of five women are survivors.

Bridgeworth is proud to support the BCRFA, breast cancer research and help provide brighter futures for those facing breast cancer diagnoses. For more information on the BCRFA, call 205.996.5463.
