BCRFA Welcomes Jatava Burns As Marketing And Communications Coordinator

Jatava brings a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector to BCRFA.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) announced today the hiring of Jatava Burns as Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

Beth Davis, CEO, cannot emphasize enough the significance of awareness and education in accomplishing BCRFA’s mission of finding a cure for breast cancer through funding promising research. “Jatava’s effective communication skills will drive our passion to advance breast cancer research in Alabama. Together with the board of directors, we warmly welcome her to the team.”

Jatava has recently joined our organization, bringing with her a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector.

She has a strong background in crafting, managing, and presenting compelling stories in creative ways. Before joining the BCRFA, she served as the PR & Marketing Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham, a non-profit organization that aims to connect children with positive mentors.

“My maternal grandmother passed from breast cancer and I knew this was the organization I needed to be at because of the passionate work that the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama does to provide funding for breast cancer research,” said Jatava. “I am honored to be part of a community that tirelessly funds breast cancer research.”

A native of Northport Jatava holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Social Psychology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at Liberty University.
