11th Annual “Revvin’ 4 Research” Event Raises Over $14,000

THE 11TH ANNUAL “REVVIN’ 4 RESEARCH” EVENT RAISES OVER $14,000 FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH IN ALABAMA

Birmingham, AL (September 30, 2019)– More than 140 motorcycles and 200 riders decked out in pink participated in this year’s Revvin’ 4 Research charity ride, hosted by Heart of Dixie Harley Davidson in Pelham and benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA). The riders revved their engines on Sunday, September 29, 2019 and raised over $14,000 to support breast cancer research in Alabama.

Registration opened at noon and lunch and entertainment was provided by The Yellow Rose while riders put the final touches on their bike decorations. The procession of pink, escorted by numerous police jurisdictions and throughout the route, departed Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson at 2:15 PM and all riders passed under a giant American flag. Pink fire trucks and vehicles from Center Point Fire District, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Pink Heals bookended the motorcycles. The riders were able to ride through the beautiful Oak Mountain State Park before arriving at their destination, The Yellow Rose in Birmingham, for the after party.

“This is the 11th year for Revvin’4 Research and it is an event that we look forward to each year,” said Mike DeSantis, General Manager of Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson. “So many of us have been impacted by breast cancer, and Heart of Dixie is honored to be able to host an event that brings out so many people to help raise money for research.”

This annual event has raised almost $170,000 for the BCRFA since it began in 2009. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the ride help fund local breast cancer research. One in eight women and one in 1,000 men will battle this disease.

Event sponsors for the 2019 Revvin’ 4 Research include: Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, Long-Lewis Ford Lincoln, ERA King Real Estate, Synovis Micro Companies Alliance, Inc., Randy Hammond, The Yellow Rose, Reli Title, By George Inspections, Porters Termonox , Todd’s Lawn Care, iHeart Media, Fox, Sirote & Permutt, the Law Office of J.
