Renasant Bank Donates $55,057.73 to Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Renasant (NASDAQ: RNST) is pleased to announce that the Renasant Bank and Renasant Mortgage teams in Alabama raised $55,057.73 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama during the month of October. Renasant Mortgage donated $50.00 per closing, and 21 bank locations held bake sales, hosted spirit nights with restaurants, put bankers in dunking booths, and hosted food trucks to raise money.

Executive Director of BCRFA, Elizabeth Bradner says, “The BCRFA began as a grassroots effort to raise funds for breast cancer research in Alabama, and has grown steadily over the years. The collaborative and creative efforts by Renasant team members across Alabama reinforces that people working together can truly accomplish great things – $55,057.73 is astounding! We are thankful for our partnership with Renasant and for having them on our side to fight against breast cancer, work together to fund research and save lives.”

The BCRFA, through community support, has raised over $8.7 million for cutting edge breast cancer research and treatments in Alabama. All funding stays in Alabama, but the benefits have global impact. 1 in 8 women and 1 in 1,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Thirty years ago, 4 out of 5 women diagnosed with breast cancer died. Today, that statistic has been reversed with 4 out of 5 women diagnosed now survives. The impact of research funding is clear, and Renasant is proud to be a small part of that impact.
