The BCRFA has partnered with over 30 unique organizations all eager to make a impact this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Alabama firefighters battle breast cancer and fires with the Pink Ribbon Project
Fire departments across Alabama are raising funds for breast cancer research that saves lives
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) is teaming up with fire departments across the state for the Pink Ribbon Project T-shirt campaign. The yearly campaign honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and raises funds for breast cancer research in Alabama.
If you’re fortunate, your local fire department might be offering a limited-edition Pink Ribbon Project T-shirt for sale to the public. Short sleeve shirts are $15; long sleeve shirts are $20. The best part is every purchase will go toward funding critical breast cancer research.
The Pink Ribbon Project was formed in 2010 after a group of fire departments partnered with the BCRFA to create a city-wide fundraiser for breast cancer research. The fire departments desired to keep all funds they raised in Alabama to support local research efforts. The initiative began in 2011, and since then, the Pink Ribbon Project has raised over $600,000.
The T-shirt designs may change year after year, but the mission of the Pink Ribbon Project remains the same: to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research across the state.
Community members and businesses are invited to participate by stopping by their local fire stations, buying a Pink Ribbon Project T-shirt, and capturing a photo with their community firefighters. Photos posted on social media tagging the BCRFA (@BCRFAlabama) might be reposted by BCRFA.
