The Bolt for Breast Cancer 5K and Fun Run returned to Mountain Brook with a display of pink and community support. The annual event has the same goal every year – to fund breast cancer research and save lives. The Bolt for Breast Cancer, organized by the Junior Board of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) and presented by ABC 33/40 and Thrivent, took place at Crestline Field on Sunday, October 5, and raised an impressive $51,689 with 509 participants of the 5K and 1-mile Dolly Dash.
18th annual Pink Palace Casino Night raises $140K for breast cancer research
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA)’s 18th annual Pink Palace Casino Night was a success, raising over $140,000 to support innovative breast cancer research across the state of Alabama. Over 200 guests showed up to Soiree Event Gallery in Hoover last Saturday, March 7 for a night where fun met philanthropy. Whether breast cancer survivors themselves or supporters whose loved ones have been impacted by the disease, guests gathered to spend the evening gaming for a good cause.
Pink Palace Casino Night guests went all in for the BCRFA’s mission, trying their luck with Vegas-style gaming, a wine bottle ring toss, prize drawings, and a highly anticipated silent auction. In addition, the event featured plenty of food, drinks, a photo booth, and live music performed by local band II Da Maxx.
Presented by the O’Neal Cancer Center at UAB, Renasant Bank, Luther Giving Fund, and Tameron Honda and Hyundai, Pink Palace Casino Night is one of BCRFA’s largest and most iconic fundraisers. Proceeds help fuel groundbreaking breast cancer research, supporting 25 projects at nine Alabama institutions (and counting!) in 2026 alone.
“Pink Palace Casino Night is a wonderful example of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose,” said BCRFA Board Chair Gloria Buie. “Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to breakthroughs in breast cancer research, and we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, and guests who continue to make this event such a meaningful success year after year.”
“Events like Pink Palace Casino Night are about more than a great evening – they’re a powerful way for our community to directly support life-saving breast cancer research,” said Beth Davis, President & CEO of the BCRFA. “Because of the incredible generosity we saw this year, the BCRFA can continue funding innovative research projects across Alabama that bring us closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.”
The continued success of Pink Palace Casino Night is driven by the hard work of the event committee, the leadership of the BCRFA Board of Directors, and the generosity of sponsors and supporters throughout the community. Over its 18-year history, Pink Palace Casino Night has generated more than $1.3 million of the $17 million the BCRFA has invested in breast cancer research across Alabama since its founding in 1996.
