The Breast Cancer Research Foundation Of Alabama Is Partnering With Over 20 Businesses and Organizations Across The State To Raise Funds For Lifesaving Research
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Alabama is going pink! The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRFA) is partnering with over 20 businesses to support lifesaving, innovative research in Alabama.
Proceeds from the community events and promotions fuel the most promising and innovative breast cancer research happening in Alabama. All funding stays in the state, but the impact is worldwide.
If you’re looking to join the fight against breast cancer, join us at one of these Breast Cancer Awareness Month community events.
Can’t find something near you? You can always support the BCRFA with a donation, purchase the Breast Cancer Research license plate, snag some pink apparel at the BCRFA shop, or host your own fundraiser.
Calera Goes Pink Golf Tournament
Join us at Timberline Golf Course for our annual Calera Goes Pink golf tournament on Thursday, October 24 benefiting the BCRFA. Individuals and foursomes are welcome. View/download the registration form with more details here. Registration and lunch opens at 11 am; shotgun start at 1 pm.

Lace-up your sneakers to raise funds and awareness for local, life-saving breast cancer research on Sunday, October 27 at the 7th annual Bolt for Breast Cancer 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run presented by ABC 33/40!
Brought to you by the Junior Board of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama, Bolt for Breast Cancer formerly Pink Up the Pace is a day of fun and competition for the whole family.
Race Details
- The event includes a 5K race and “Dolly Dash” 1-mile fun run (kids can run, walk, bike, or “scoot” to the finish line).
- Check-in and on-site registration open at 1 PM; Races start at 2 PM.
- Runners and walkers are welcome in both races
- Timing bibs provided to 5K participants
Post-Race Highlights
After the race join us for refreshments (snacks, beer, wine) and fun field activities, including face painting, music, inflatable fun, and more.
Registration Details
Registration is $35 for adults (ages 13+) and $25 for children (ages 4-12). Children 3 and under are free.
Early registration is highly encouraged as t-shirts and race bags are limited and distributed based on registration date. Register by Friday, October 4, to guarantee a shirt in your preferred size! Online registration ends Wednesday, October 23 at 11:59 PM. Walk-ups may register on-site beginning at 1 PM on event day.
5K Details

- Open to runners and walkers of all ages. No bikes, scooters, or pets, please.
Dolly Dash 1-Mile Fun Run Details
- Registration includes event t-shirt and race bag items while supplies last. Dolly Dash registration does not include a timing bib, but a race clock will be at the finish line.
- Register by Friday, October 4 to guarantee a shirt in your preferred size!
- Open to runners and walkers of all ages. Scooters, bikes, and dogs welcome.
