Free License Plates Have Been Claimed!
June, 2008
The FREE Breast Cancer License Plates have been claimed!
Thanks to local supporters of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA), the organization received sufficient funding to pay the $50 specialty plate fee for ALL 1,000 required plates. The BCRFA has given away all remaining plates.
When the state comptroller's office receives all of the commitments in their office (September 2008) the plates will go in to production. All receipients of the FREE plates will receive notification by mail with detailed information on when and where to pick up the "Funding Breast Cancer Research in Alabama" specialty plate.
The BCRFA plates will fund breast cancer research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center for many years to come.
